Introduction

This is a new little project that I've started called The Scenic Route. Like the history blog, this is mostly for me. I like to document places that I go and things that I see.

With our new found freedom we have time to stop in all those places that you normally drive through when you're going someplace else.

I recently read another blog by a woman who loved lists. I, too, love lists.  I love to check off things that have been accomplished.  I have several lists, actually but the one that pertains to this blog is the list of cities in Texas.

Now that I think about it, a few of my lists pertain to this blog.  I also have a list of county seats for all the counties in Texas.  I love all the old courthouses. I'm not sure how many are around these days but I aim to find out.

I have a friend who is into BBQ. She will drive all over Texas looking for good bbq and she will post on Facebook all the places she's been to and they are all small towns in Texas and I thought to myself, I want to do that too! She inspired me.

While I'm not the biggest fan of bbq (I'll eat it, don't get me wrong), I am the fan of travel, any kind of travel.  Every place has something to offer.

So my goal with this list and this blog is to visit as many of the towns and cities in Texas as I can.
